NBA trade rumors 2015: Cleveland Cavaliers could re-sign Kevin Love only to trade him

Kevin Love may have opted out of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers but as everyone knows, the Cavs can still hook him up. That is assuming that the Cavs can dangle a good offer for the All Star forward.

Should the Cavs succeed, it also doesn't immediately mean that he is a fix to be on the team next season.

Do recall that Love was not spare from criticism and hasn't been exactly buddy-buddies with Lebron James. And once that happens, you can be that management will look closely into the reason which could eventually end up dealing Love to another team.

So if this was the case, why re-sign Love in the first place.

Well for starters, the Cavs may look to try and get something in exchange for Love rather than see him walk freely. It could be a player or players, plus picks or even cash considerations depending on negotiations. In all, it is all about trying to avoid ending up with nothing.

There are several teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and even the Portland Trailblazers who may be interested in Love though it remains to be seen what these teams can offer.

Of the three, the Celtics have been the most vocal and could deal multiple players to land Love. Same goes for the Lakers as well.

Portland is a curious player in the mix. The obvious chase is to offset the impending departure of LaMarcus Aldridge where the forward line will severely be depleted. But what will the Blazers have to offer?

The New York Knicks could also enter the picture though outside Carmelo Anthony, the team doesn't necessarily have the resource that could be enough to pull out a trade.

Other teams? Well no other team has been added to that mix yet though all that could crop up in the coming week/s. Love is a high profile players and normally every team that can afford to will try to make a pitch at the 26-year-old forward from UCLA.
