The previous episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" ended with a huge cliffhanger as Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) was arrested for the murder of his former partner. But was he unfairly accused of the crime, or does he really have something to do with it?

Fans will have to wait a little more before learning whether Deeks is truly guilty or not as the hit CBS show has gone on a brief hiatus this week. According to Cartermatt, the show was originally not supposed to be scheduled this way as "The Long Goodbye" was scheduled to air on Dec. 7, but instead it aired on Nov. 16.

It was reported that producers had to make the shift following the Paris attacks, as the original Nov. 16 episode titled "Defectors" involved ISIS recruiting young women. The two-part story revolving around Deeks's arrest was pushed back, and this resulted in a hiatus in the middle of the two episodes.

When the show airs the next episode titled "Internal Affairs" next week, Deeks will be interrogated for the murder of his former partner, and the team races to try to prove his innocence.

Deeks' arrest will surely test his relationship with Kensi (Daniela Ruah) as everyone around him tries to prove that he didn't do the crime. Speaking with E! News, Olsen said that Deeks' relationship with Kensi is by far "the best and most successful" that he's ever had in his life, but there's something in his past that is "so bad" that he's afraid to admit it to her and even to himself. Does this mean that Deeks may have something to do with his ex-partner's murder after all?

"We don't know whether or not he is guilty or not guilty of the crime that he has been arrested for," said Olsen, citing the podcast "Serial" and saying that people followed Adnan Syed's story, who was convicted in the 1999 strangling death of his ex-girlfriend. At the end of the podcast, there were a lot of conflicting opinions on whether Syed was guilty or not.

"Deeks is Adnan. That's exactly what this episode is, except you are completely and emotionally invested," the actor explained.
