In the next episode of "NCIS," Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Jack Sloane (Maria Bello) run protection detail for U.S. Senator John Phillips (James Morrison) in Afghanistan for the holidays.

The synopsis and promotional photos for the upcoming installment titled "Double Down" was just released recently. Torres and Sloane are assigned to handle security and logistics for Senator Phillips' visit to Afghanistan. The two agents are shown with their rifles along with other military personnel. They appear to be travelling across a valley when they suspect that some local militias are in the vicinity. With their rifles at the ready, they carefully tread across the terrain. Sloane takes cover behind the military trucks as she aims her weapon at the hillside. The contingent manages to reach a safe area and regroup. However, Torres and Sloane receive word that they have to head back to the U.S. to investigate an altercation involving the senator's son.

Back in the U.S., Torres and Sloane reunite with Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the rest of the team to look into an incident that left the son of Senator Phillips in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Gibbs wants to figure out if there is any connection between Phillips' visit to Afghanistan and his son's unfortunate altercation. Apparently, it may be a conspiracy to undermine the politician's efforts in the foreign country.

In the last episode, Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) and his wife Delilah (Margo Harshman) became proud parents of a new baby. However, this was not without drama as a hostage incident took place in the hospital's waiting room during that time. In the end, Gibbs, McGee, and the team were able to neutralize the hostage-taker and bring him to justice.

"NCIS" season 15 episode 10 will hit the airwaves on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
