Marvel is now in the midst of working on new console games.

News of the multimedia giant's plans regarding console-based games was revealed at the recently concluded Comic-Con held in San Diego.

In response to one question from a fan asking whether or not they were in the process of looking for partners to make console games, Marvel Games producer Mike Jones indicated that they are indeed on the lookout for new partners to work with, Polygon reported.

Jones also said that Marvel is already in the process of developing some console-based games.

Aside from Jones sharing Marvel's currently ongoing plans regarding console games, he also said that the company is indeed planning to focus more on developing those types of games properly.

With Marvel placing a greater deal of importance on creating games for consoles, Jones followed by saying the development process may end up taking more time. He indicated that console games require more time to grow on their own, leading to news having to come out more slowly.

"We are very much taking a controlled, less-is-more, quality-focused, developer-focused strategy, but it is very top of mind, and we'll have a lot more announcements probably next year," said Jones.

Jones also pointed out that Marvel has just recently entered into a partnership with Telltale Games. Jones said the partnership is an indicator that Marvel is indeed working on big things in terms of console games in the immediate future.

As of now, the only thing known about the partnership between Marvel and Telltale Games is that both parties are currently working on a still unannounced project, though no additional details have been given, according to IGN.

Despite Marvel's relative inactivity in terms of producing console games, the company still has a number of titles available for mobile platforms, including "Marvel: Contest of Champions," "Marvel: Future Fight" and "Marvel: Puzzle Quest."
