New Orleans Saints franchise quarterback Drew Brees' status for Sunday's game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars is still unclear because of his torn plantar fascia and despite him practicing again Friday.

Before being limited in Friday's practice, Brees missed all their practices for the week but insisted last Thursday that he will be playing this Sunday against Jacksonville. 

In a report by ESPN, Brees spoke about the injury and said Thursday, "It hurts to walk. It has its challenges. But we've come up with a good plan for this week, how to support it and how to make it as manageable as possible."

ESPN mentioned in another report that during Thursday's practice in which Brees did not participate, quarterbacks veteran Matt Flynn and rookie Garrett Grayson split the reps. 

If the 36-year-old veteran is unable to play in Sunday's game taking on the Jaguars, Flynn, Grayson, or both of them will be seeing action.

However, Saints head coach Sean Payton did not give information on who will be starting between the two, according to the report. 

The torn plantar fascia is not the first major injury Brees faced this 2015, as he also had a rotator cuff injury early this season which made him miss his first game in a 16-year career in the National Football League (NFL).

In 13 games played this season, Brees has 371 completions for 4,135 yards and 28 touchdowns, also throwing 11 interceptions. 

Despite the heroics and toughness Brees is showing, a playoff scenario is far-fetched for New Orleans as the regular season winds down. 

The Saints are last in the National Football Conference (NFC) South with a 5–9 record and are coming off a defeat versus the Detroit Lions last Monday. 

Following Sunday's home stand against the Jaguars, it will not be easier for Brees and the Saints as they close the 2015 regular season facing the Atlanta Falcons on the road.
