"New Style Boutique 2 - Fashion Forward" is releasing on the Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 20 in the U.K., although there has not yet been an announcement for a release in North America. Along with the game's release, Nintendo U.K. has revealed via Twitter that there will be accompanying Amiibo that will unlock special costumes.

At the time of writing, there have been four Amiibo unveiled thus far. One is a female Splatoon character, the other is Samus Aran from the "Metroid" series, the third is Palutena from "Kid Icarus: Uprising," and the fourth is Lucina from "Fire Emblem Awakening."

Each Amiibo will unlock a corresponding costume for the player avatar in "New Style Boutique 2 - Fashion Forward." Using Samus Aran will unlock the "Bounty Hunter Boots" while using Lucina will unlock the "Warrior Skirt." Palutena's Amiibo will unlock the "Goddess Top" and using the Splatoon Amiibo will unlock the "Inky Leggings."

Since the game has yet to release, it is unconfirmed at this point what other effects the Amiibo costumes will have in the game or if they are purely for cosmetic purposes. It is also undetermined if the costumes can be unlocked by some other means without the Amiibo, similar to how "Super Mario Maker" handles unlockable characters.

"New Style Boutique 2 - Fashion Forward" is reportedly the third game in the franchise to be heading over to Europe, and the franchise has yet to gain stable grounds in the U.S. It is possible that if the game and its accompanying Amiibo prove a success in Europe, the title may be ported over to North America by 2016.

The new Amiibo do not have a particular release date as of yet, but they are expected to release by the end of the month to launch alongside the game. As with most Amiibo, they may also prove useful for games other than "New Style Boutique 2 - Fashion Forward."
