The New York Jets are again hit with a huge blow at the tight end position as Jace Amaro is ruled out for the entire 2015 season with a torn labrum in his shoulder.

Amaro suffered the injury during their first preseason game this 2015 against the Detroit Lions, to which they lost 23–3, and he never practiced since then.

In a report by the New York Post, Amaro even said last week that his shoulder is getting better each day adding that it is a "slow process" but that is no longer the case.

New York gave Amaro time for the shoulder to recover but head coach Todd Bowles said such did not happen and added, according to ESPN, "He can't do anything. ... He's still in a lot of pain."

The Jets drafted Amaro in the second round last year and were expecting great contributions from him since he had a very impressive stint in Texas Tech where in 2013 he had a record 106 catches for 1,352 yards.

But the 23-year-old tight end did not have the same success in his first year with the Jets, having only 38 receptions for 345 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games played.

Despite the numbers, his reception tally still led all rookie tight ends last season, according to ESPN.

Amaro is the second tight end the Jets lost to injury this offseason as backup Zach Sudfeld will also be out for the entire year to undergo knee surgery after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in training camp last June.

Now the Jets are left with only four tight ends in their roster and these are Jeff Cumberland (starter), Kellen Davis, Arthur Lynch, and Wes Saxton.

Lynch and Saxton will be playing in their first regular season in the National Football League (NFL) if they make the cut.

The Jets still have one more preseason game remaining and it will be against the Philadelphia Eagles today, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m. EST. They will open their 2015 season against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 13.
