New York Knicks rumors 2015: Kristaps Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony to co-exist for long?

Kristaps Porzingis, the 20-year-old Latvian center that many felt was a dud continues to prove his detractors wrong.

He has been showing his true worth with the Knicks and hasn't even stepped on Carmelo Anthony in the process. In fact, the two seem to be doing just fine. Well considering the Knicks currently hold a 10–14 record instead of a winless one, something seems to be going right.

Before the season started, not too many gave the Knicks a chance to figure prominently but such has not been the case. Although they may not be among the top team (at least for now), they have proven the detractors wrong once again.

As it turns out, Porzingis is proving to be what the doctor ordered for the Knicks and as far as Anthony's able backup is concerned. Lean but standing 7 feet 3 inches tall, it is not hard to see how he has come up with big double-double numbers.

Moving forward, Porzingis has proven to be a worthy investment despite the criticism he got from the day the Knicks made him their top pick of the 2015 NBA Draft.

And now they are cheering him as he and Melo are slowly taking shape as head coach Derek Fisher's one-two punch. For how long? Well, that remains to be seen.

The Knicks have gotten some headway in the rebuilding department and some more building blocks are bound to come along soon. Obviously, the Knicks have somehow covered their frontline woes. Hence, it could be time to start scouting for better guards, shooters, and a certified man in the middle.

Robin Lopez has been filling the void properly but the Knicks could do better. Jose Calderon has been quarterbacking satisfactorily but the Knicks can likewise get someone who could be more effective.

Can Melo and Kristaps co-exist? Well, it certainly looks that way for now.
