The story-based exploration game "Night in the Woods" is reportedly getting a director's cut in December. The expansion has been titled "Weird Autumn" and a teaser trailer was uploaded on Oct. 30.

The trailer features the game's art, character design, music and some of the in-game events alongside the announcement. It also features protagonist Mae Borowski running across colorful and enchanting sceneries.

"New Weird. New Crimes. Old Tales," according to the trailer. "Weird Autumn" will serve as the game's complete edition.

According to Polygon, "Weird Autumn" will also include brand-new mini games, Mae's dream sequences, and scenes from the game's pre-released mini episodes from "Longest Night" and "Lost Constellation." The additional chapters were only available as downloadable content (DLC) for the PC version.

Players of "Night in the Woods" who already own the game's PC version will be receiving this upgraded version for free.

"Night in the Woods" was released for the PlayStation 4, Linux, Mac and PC last February. The current trailer for "Weird Autumn" states that it would be coming to all major consoles, so it's possible that this time around, "Night in the Woods" will also be coming to the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Written by Bethany Hockenberry and Scott Benson, "Night in the Woods" started out on Kickstarter. It reached its funding goal and went on to be released earlier in 2017.

An existential game that focuses heavily on its characters and plot, a more thorough synopsis is available on the game's official website. It reads:

"College dropout Mae Borowski returns home to the crumbling former mining town of Possum Springs seeking to resume her aimless former life and reconnect with the friends she left behind. But things aren't the same. Home seems different now and her friends have grown and changed. Leaves are falling and the wind is growing colder. Strange things are happening as the light fades."

"Night in the Woods" is a mystery waiting to be unraveled.
