A piece of nostalgia is set to hit the United States. It's almost impossible to acquire a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) Classic these days, but there's hope as a similar-looking New Nintendo 3DS XL is about to hit the store shelves.

The new version of the handheld console was discovered on Amazon's website. According to the listing, the New Nintendo 3DS XL will start to ship on Nov. 27. The video game console comes in the SNES' original light gray color along with two different shades of purple for its buttons and 3D slider.

The console unit also has the same look of the Super Nintendo when closed, along with the purple power and reset buttons printed outside. It also has a fake eject button and the original logo of the SNES. Nintendo even went as far as designing the box for the New Nintendo 3DS XL to look like the packaging of the SNES Classic Edition.

The new video game console will also be loaded with games such as "Super Mario Kart" which was one of the video games loaded on the classic SNES.

The 3DS XL is just one of the many video game consoles that are angling with a throwback theme. In 2016, Nintendo launched the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Classic and then followed it up in 2017 with the SNES Classic. Several different versions of the video game console became available depending on the consumer's location.

Nintendo also released a Super Famicom-themed 3DS console for their fans in Japan last year.

The 3DS XL has been known to have one of the best libraries of video games for Nintendo. It has the right mix of popular titles alongside indie video games and has the classic ones right along its most recent releases. Players are able to enjoy more on the 3DS XL with its improved battery life with usage ranging from four to seven hours.
