With the release of "No Man's Sky" scheduled for next month, more details are being revealed by developer Hello Games. According to the studio, the procedural feature of the game is not limited to the planets generated in-game but also shows in how players can interact with different alien races.

In an earlier interview with PlayStation Blog, Hello Games founder Sean Murray has revealed that alien factions have always been one of their original ideas for the game.

Murray stated, "We've always talked about having factions in the game. It's something we've always wanted. We had ideas on how we wanted that to fit in No Man's Sky, but it's taken us a while to get to the point where we're happy enough to show it."

However, one of the things that make the NPCs in "No Man's Sky" stand out is that the same procedural generation system also makes the alien races. This means that there may be as many alien races as there are worlds in the game. In addition, the NPCs will not have the standard language, customs, and traditions.

Murray added that this will interest players more, making them explore the world thoroughly.

"With NPCs in 'No Man's Sky,' you actually have to learn their language; they speak to you in their native tongue. The more you travel around the universe, the more you learn their language, and the more you can communicate with them."

Meanwhile, interactions with the factions will also play a part in "No Man's Sky." Aside from exploring the planets, talking and interacting regularly with an alien race – trading, learning their language, and staying in their planet – will make them see players as friends, and may even give out preferences like pointing out the mineral sites, giving cheaper prices on items, or information about the planet.

"No Man's Sky" launches on June 21 for the PS4 and PC.
