It would seem as though there are still women who are immune to Ronaldo's charms. 

Despite performing well on the field and doing various charitable deeds, a high profile nun from Spain is less than impressed by football star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sister Lucia Caram, a Dominican nun from Catalonia, who shot to fame in 2014 for hosting her own cooking show and earning 171,000 Twitter followers, recently said in an interview with sport.es that she prefers Messi to Ronaldo.

"For me the evidence for the existence of God is manifested in goodness and beauty, and when I see Messi play I see that," she said.

"One looks entranced, like by a beautiful painting or a sunset, when one faces Messi. I'm not saying he's God, but he's a reflection of God's perfection. He dazzles everyone," she said in Spanish.

The nun was also asked if she considers Real Madrid star player Ronaldo - one of Messi's rivals in popularity - as the devil.

While Caram did not insult Ronaldo directly, she did criticise his attitude.

"Cristiano plays football very well, but he has a very cocky and unfriendly attitude. He's not my greatest enemy, I think he plays very good football, but there is not harmony in him."

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez and midfielder Atletico Madrid Ardan Turan also did not escape the nun's attention, as she warned football fans against blindness to poor sportsmanship.

"I worry that it's a weakness for people to defend their idols against the indefensible. You cannot defend Suarez's bite or applaud the throwing of a shoe at a linesman (Turan), and the attitude of Cristiano Ronaldo recently [for his red card last month] was not good."
