NVIDIA has announced its Pascal-generation Quadro products, the P5000 and P6000. These professional-grade video cards are expected to be released by October.

The graphics card manufacturing giant has announced the two Quadro models to fill in the higher end of the spectrum for their Quadro family. The new GPUs are based on the company's latest-generation Pascal technology, which will offer significant features and performance upgrades over their Maxwell-based predecessors.

"Fueled by NVIDIA Pascalâ„¢, NVIDIA's most powerful GPU architecture ever, the new Quadro products bring a whole new level of performance and innovative capabilities to power visual computing on the desktop, in VR, or on-the-go. Whether you're creating revolutionary products, designing ground-breaking architecture, or telling spectacularly vivid visual stories, Quadro gives you the power to do it better and faster," the company said on its website.

The Quadro P5000 includes 2560 CUDA Parallel-processing cores and 16GB GDDR5X of RAM and is capable of performing 8.9 TeraFLOPs. Its power consumption is pegged at 180 W, will require a PCI Expres 3.0 x 16, while offering four DisplayPort 1.4 and a single DVI-D output ports. It is 4.4-inch high and 10.5-inch long.

On the other hand, the more powerful Quadro P6000 offers 3840 CUDA Parallel-processing cores and 24GB of GDDR5X RAM and is capable of performing upto 12 TeraFLOPs. Its maximum power consumption is rated at 250 W, will require a PCI Expres 3.0 x 16 slot and has similar output ports and physical size to the lower model.

Additionally, the P5000 uses the Pascal GP204 GPU while the P6000 is powered by the GP102 GPU. Also, the P6000 has higher CUDA cores than the latest Titan X, and should be able to deliver 5K outputs on five separate display monitors, iTech reported.

Both the NVIDIA Quadro P6000 and P5000 models are anticipated to be available in October and expected to be around US$4,000.
