Players who will be getting their own Oculus Rifts will also be able to try out "Lucky's Tale," the new game being released along with the virtual reality (VR) headset.

To be clear, everyone who buys the Oculus Rift will be getting "Lucky's Tale," so early adopters will already have one game in their new VR library.

As for the game itself, "Lucky's Tale" is looking to provide players with a unique kind of experience, the kind which they can only get from a platforming title set inside the world of VR.

In the game, players will take on the role of a fox named Lucky as they travel through and discover a world unfolding before them via the VR medium.

The game itself will be featuring a variety of items that players can collect, and there will also be numerous mini-games they can try out for when the monotony of platforming can become a bit bland.

According to Digital Trends, most games designed for VR are in the first person, so "Lucky's Tale" will already be different even in just the way it presents itself to players.

Ultimately, it will be the Oculus Rift owners who will dictate whether the third person perspective offered by "Lucky's Tale" is something to build upon or something to do away with.

"Lucky's Tale" comes from Playful, a studio owned by "Words with Friends" co-creator Paul Bettner, according to GameSpot

Bettner has been a fan of the Oculus Rift for a while now, and some of the smaller prototype games his studio has developed for the VR headset will also be featured in "Lucky's Tale" as those aforementioned mini-games.

As of now, there's no official word yet on when the Oculus Rift will hit the market, although the headset's creator, Palmer Luckey, has indicated that it is still on track to be released during the first few months of 2016.
