'Oh...Sir! The Insult Simulator' Nintendo Switch release date news: Game and spinoff will be available later this month on the Switch eShop
Good Shepherd Entertainment and Vile Monarch's unique game "Oh...Sir! The Insult Simulator" and its spinoff "Oh...Sir! The Hollywood Roast" are coming to the Nintendo Switch.
The games will be released on Jan. 18 and will be available on the Nintendo eShop starting that date. The original game "Oh...Sir! The Insult Simulator" will cost $1.99 while the spinoff "Oh...Sir! The Hollywood Roast" will cost $2.99.
Those unfamiliar to the game may be surprised to find out about the game's unique mechanics. Basically, the game sets up fights between different characters. However, instead of exchanging physical blows as people would on any other fighting game, "Oh...Sir! The Insult Simulator" requires players to string cleverly-worded insults to beat their opponents.
As in every fighting mechanic, the game also recognizes combos and critical hits, meaning that people can score a lot better when executing these verbal attacks. There is also a technique called continuation, which may refer to an extension or a reference to a previous insult given.
The game has a pretty wide vocabulary, and promises to include a wide collection of insults to throw at opponents, virtual or otherwise.
The game can be played single-player, which the official game description dubs as the "Loner's Insult Tournament Mode." In this mode, players will select a character and will battle it out with other premade characters in a classic way of "verbally assaulting" one's computer.
Of course, there is also a multiplayer mode, which features insult duels against real-life friends. The official game description in the Nintendo Switch eShop even jokingly boasts that the game "parts lovers, destroys families and turns friends into enemies."
"Oh...Sir! The Insult Simulator" was originally developerd for Android and PC, but was later ported to consoles. The Nintendo Switch port is the most recent version.
The game is a hit on parties for its comedic value."Let's Play" sessions of the game have also been popular among YouTube personalities shortly after the time of the game's release.
