The Oklahoma City Thunder are again finding their rhythm winning back-to-back but will play a number of games without star forward Kevin Durant who sustained a left hamstring strain in their 125–101 victory over the Washington Wizards.

According to ESPN, the Thunder announced last Wednesday that Durant will be out for seven to 10 days because of the injury and will undergo re-evaluation.

A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) which was taken last Wednesday revealed the injury, the report added.

Durant hurt the hamstring following his landing after driving to the basket and was fouled by Wizards center Kris Humphries in the second quarter of Tuesday's game.

"After that foul, I came down a little awkward and landed on it a little harder than I wanted to, and it pulled," Durant said following the game, according to ESPN.

The 27-year-old forward left the game and was unable to return but still finished with a double-double performance tallying 14 points with 10 rebounds, also having four assists in only 17 minutes played.

Before leaving, Durant was playing and shooting great and was even two of two from three point territory.

Despite the former Most Valuable Player (MVP) having to sit out the remainder of the game against Washington, the Thunder still cruised to the win.

Oklahoma City relied on their other superstar, point guard Russell Westbrook, who took over and notched a triple-double.

Westbrook had 22 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, and one steal in 28 minutes of action to lead the Thunder in Durant's absence.

Helping Westbrook was center Serge Ibaka who tallied 23 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

The win improved the Thunder's record to 5–3 and placed them fourth in the Western Conference standings.

But the game was also meaningful for Durant who returned to his home state of Washington for the first time this season, with the Wizards being linked to him since he will be a free agent in 2016.
