After a controversial previous release on the big screen, "Olaf's Frozen Adventure" is debuting on TV on Dec. 14, as part of the Disney-ABC Television Groups's "25 Days of Christmas" celebration.

The 22-minute short film will feature the second return of the beloved cast of the 2013 award-winning animated film "Frozen." The featurette also comes with four original songs, in addition to the hit songs "Let It Go" and "Love Is an Open Door," among others. "While making the film, our crew was so inspired by all of the great television holiday specials of the past. It's a dream come true for all of us," said producer Roy Conli of the TV screening.

"Olaf's Frozen Adventure" follows the iconic snowman (voiced by Josh Gad), on a merry mission with the reindeer Sven. Set on the first holiday season, the gates of the palace re-open, it is also the first time since Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) reunite after spending years of civil animosity.

The sisters host a celebration for the whole Arendelle, but their guests all leave early to celebrate their own family customs at their own homes. This is when Anna and Elsa realize that they do not have a family tradition of their own.

The adorable Olaf then sets out to comb the kingdom, to gather the best traditions, bring them home to Anna and Elsa, and hopefully save their first Christmas together.

"Olaf's Frozen Adventure" was first released on a limited run in theaters, as part of Disney-Pixar's hit animated film "Coco." It was, however, later pulled out due to complaints that it was too long for a movie prelude.
Four years after "Frozen" was launched, Disney is trying to keep fans happy with short films until the second installment hit theaters on Nov. 27, 2019. The first featurette, "Frozen Fever," was released in 2015. It was an eight-minute short film that played before the live-action "Cinderella."

"Olaf's Frozen Adventure" is slated to air 8:30 p.m. EDT.
