Regina (Lana Parrilla) will be the one to convince the new Dark One Emma (Jennifer Morrison) to return to the good side in the upcoming season of ABC's "Once Upon a Time."

Leaked set photos of the fairy tale drama series show Emma sporting blonde hair and a black coat conversing with Regina. It appears that the latter is trying to bring Emma to remember the good in her and leave the darkness, which now entraps her. In the season 4 finale, viewers saw Emma's transformation as the new Dark One. She was last seen getting sucked by the vortex of evil in order to save Regina's life from the Darkness.

In the upcoming installment, Regina seems to take it her personal responsibility to make it up to Emma by preventing her from being totally consumed by the wicked side. Parilla told Pop Sugar how her character has evolved throughout the series, as well as the reversal of roles between Regina and Emma.

"I think that the hero has been evolving within Regina in the last year. The cool thing about her is that she is both good and bad now — like everyone in the world, we all possess evil thoughts or whatever — and I love that she is embracing both sides," she shared.

The actress also said that she believes that Regina would have a huge impact "in bringing Emma back into the light." In this quest, she would be joined by Hook (Colin O'Donoghue), who still harbors feelings for the new Dark One, despite of everything.

Hook, who knows what it's like to get into the darkness, would reportedly do everything in his powers to bring Emma back where she belongs. In an interview with TV Line, O'Donoghue shared his thoughts on how his character would react to his ladylove's new predicament.

"Hook, he loves Emma, and he loves her for who she is as the savior. He spent so much of last season trying to protect her, like everybody else, from the darkness."

"Once Upon a Time" will return on Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
