"One Piece" chapter 889 is not expected to be released anytime soon, following a one-week hiatus. Still, the long wait might be worth it as the latest spoilers show more action-packed sequences coming to the manga series. Specifically, the upcoming chapter will see the continuation of Monkey D. Luffy and Charlotte Katakuri's second bout, while there are rumors that chapter 889 will feature another shocking transformation, similar to Carrot's.

According to One Piece Podcast, "One Piece" chapter 889 will not be published this week due to Weekly Shonen's holiday break. However, the next issue will be up on Christmas Day, December 25th. 

The online publication reported that "One Piece" chapter 889 will show an intense showdown between Luffy and Katakuri. To recall, the Straw Hat pirate decided to re-enter the Mirror World and face the sweet commander for the second time. Luffy believes that fighting Katakuri will help him achieve a new powerful Haki, although that wouldn't be easy as his enemy is also determined to finish him off for good.

There are rumors that Luffy will be successful in learning a new technique during his second fight with Katakuri. Although, it has yet to be seen if Luffy will manage to develop a technique similar to Katakuri's Observation Haki, which allows the user to look into the future for a short period of time. 

Redditors have been speculating that the second Luffy vs. Katakuri battle will end with Big Mom's lieutenant on the losing side. This is because Katakuri will be affected by the sight of his siblings being defeated by Carrot. The previous chapter showed Carrot's surprising transformation, giving her immense power to take down the Big Mom Pirates. In "One Piece" chapter 889, Katakuri will lose his focus due to Carrot's rampage, thus giving Luffy an opportunity to attack the enemy.

Speaking of Carrot, it is rumored that "One Piece" chapter 889 will highlight yet another incredible Su Long transformation after Carrot. The next person to boast this transformation is no other than Pekoms, who also belongs to the Mink Tribe like Carrot. Many fans believe that Pekom's transformation might be even more powerful than Carrot's, although the question is if Pekoms will side with the Big Mom Pirates, or give his loyalty to the Straw Hat pirates.
