OnePlus 3 rumors: When the new phone might hit the market

Although not as highly anticipated as some of its other well-known competitors, there are still folks eagerly waiting for the arrival of the OnePlus 3.

Unfortunately, it's also one of the toughest to predict in terms of when it could be released, solely because OnePlus has not followed a pattern of behavior like many of its counterparts.

Still, even with no discernible release date pattern in place for the OnePlus 3, some outlets have still managed to conjure a probable release window for the new phone.

According to Pocket-lint, the phone arriving any time before May of next year would be a bit of a surprise, although the website does point out that given the lack of a reliable pattern, just about anything is within the realm of possibility.

There's no real way to accurately predict when the OnePlus 3 might be launched, but if the company is looking to avoid some fierce competition from Apple and Samsung, it may end up releasing the new device around the middle of 2016.

Fortunately, there's more intel regarding what the OnePlus 3 might end up featuring as opposed to when it might be released.

According to the Venture Capital Post, one of the rumors surrounding the new phone suggests that it may be getting rid of its fingerprint scanner. Instead, the OnePlus 3 might end up featuring some kind of ultrasonic fingerprint scanner or perhaps even iris-recognition technology when it is eventually released.

As for the other specs expected to be featured in the new phone, it is widely believed that it will end up with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset upon release. The rumored phone is also expected to offer 4 GB of RAM along with versions that could offer either 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage. The OnePlus3 has even been rumored to feature as much as 128 GB of internal storage if it debuts without support for microSD cards.

More news about the OnePlus 3 is expected to be made available soon.
