After the announcement of the new OnePlus 2 smartphone earlier this year, the Chinese company is now reportedly preparing to unveil the handset later this month, on the 27^th. It was revealed back in January that the new OnePlus 2 smartphone is expected to arrive sometime before the end of the year, due to some problem with the phone's processor.

According to a report by The Verge, the OnePlus 2 handset recently crossed through China's certification authority TENAA and that new images give a glimpse of the phone's home button feature.

Since the unveiling of the OnePlus 2 is now just few days away, here's the difference between the new device and its predecessor, the OnePlus One, in terms of the specifications.

Like the previous OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2 is expected to also have a 5.5-inch LTPS LCD display screen but with an upgraded 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The OnePlus One display has a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.

Both phones have 5-megapixel front-facing cameras, but while the OnePlus One comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera, the OnePlus 2 is expected to have a sharper 16-megapixel rear camera.

Inside, the OnePlus One has a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM and up to 64GB internal memory that cannot be expanded. The OnePlus 2, on the other hand, is expected to pack Qualcomm's MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 processor, according to GSM Arena, along with 4GB RAM and up to 64GB non-expandable internal memory as well.

The OnePlus One is powered by a 3100 mAh battery and the new successor will have a slightly larger 3300 mAh battery. GSM Arena adds that the new smartphone will have the same color options as its predecessor.

According to a report, the OnePlus One smartphone had sold over one million units at the end of last year, and generated US$300 million in total revenue.
