"Orange Is the New Black" season 4 will not feature a time jump as it will begin merely seconds after the events of the season 3 finale, according to actress Laura Prepon while speaking to Entertainment Weekly. Prepon, who plays Alex, also stated that her character will confront Piper(Taylor Schilling) for not believing she wasn't crazy.

"What's cool is season 4 actually picks up right where season 3 left off. So it's literally, it continues five seconds later," she explained. "They [Alex and Piper] love each other and they hate each other, and it's frustrating and passionate, but there's definitely some vindication there, for sure. Piper thought she was crazy all season, but she wasn't."

It is expected that Piper won't be the main spotlight this season; however, Prepon's statements indicate the two will still have their fair share of drama in the prison, particularly now that Alex understands her ex-boss is always on the move to have her murdered, despite the fact she is already kept in prison.

It is possible this storyline will continue to develop in season 4, as Alex tries to save herself and fight back while Piper attempts to reconciliate with Alex and perhaps help her get through her current predicament. With the way the two fight and love each other, however, it is likely they will not cooperate with each other until the very last minute.

The actress did confirm that attention will be given not only to the usual suspects of characters that fans have grown to love and are familiar with but also to the newcomers in season 4. Prepon stated that season 4 will focus again on character backstories and flashbacks as well as introducing several new key characters in the prison.

Unfortunately, Prepon gave no insight on how the premiere episode would play out, keeping the main plot a mystery.

"Orange is the New Black" premieres this June 17.
