The actress who will portray the role of Brianna Randall in "Outlander" season 2 remains a mystery.

Starz is still mum about the identity of the actress who will play the role of Jamie Frazer (Sam Heughan) and Claire Randall's (Caitriona Balfe) daughter. But fans of the historical fiction drama are expecting to hear an announcement from the network soon, since the final read-through has been announced for season 2.

Producer Matthew B. Roberts recently revealed via Twitter that the last read-through for the second season of "Outlander" finally happened. He mentioned that several new cast members joined the old ones during the bittersweet interaction. This could mean that the cast has already met the one who will play Brianna's role.

Previous rumors linked several actresses to the role of the strong-minded and intelligent young lady who followed her mother back in time to meet her biological father. They include British actress Maeve Foley, former "Doctor Who" star Karen Gillan, and "Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner.

Meanwhile, Balfe recently shared with the panel at the recently concluded Television Critics Association press tour that her character Claire will have a hard time facing her husband Frank (Tobias Menzies) when she returns to the future.

"There is that reverse thing where every time she looks at Frank, she can't help but see Black Jack," Balfe revealed. "There's many layers of why that relationship is difficult when she goes back. She's definitely not the same woman that left."

Balfe also mentioned that there will be a big change in Claire's attitude in season 2.

"The difference with this season is there's been time to be in one place and contemplate. Things are sitting with her a lot more, and she has time to consider her place and how she feels," the actress said.

Claire and Jamie will be back for "Outlander" season 2 later in 2016.
