"Outlander" executive producer Ron Moore took to Twitter for a quick Q&A session with some fans. While he answered a wide variety of questions, perhaps the most important one is his direct response revealing when the second season of the series will eventually premiere. 

Moore revealed that production is still underway and that casting for some characters has not yet been finalized. He also said that the official premiere date for season 2 has not been set. However, he did point out that the season would most likely premiere in March or April. 

According to a report from Zap2It, the most likely premiere date for "Outlander" season 2 is either April 2 or April 9 given that "Black Sails" may premiere in the last week of January and end in the last week of March. "Da Vinci's Demons" will also end by December of this year, giving Starz an open slot for the show. 

Then there's the schedule from season 1. The first season debuted on Aug. 9, 2014 but its second half premiered on April 4 this year, right after the mid-season break. This indicates that Starz may place season 2 in the same April bracket as they shift their shows around now that "Da Vinci's Demons" is set to end. 

Moore also revealed via Twitter that filming is still ongoing in Paris, but once production is done, they will move filming back to Scotland. 

He also revealed that one key character from the books, Roger, has not yet been cast, which is why there have been no announcements about him thus far. Moore did confirm that the character will be in the second season although they have not begun filming any of his scenes. 

Brianna, Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) daughter, has also not yet been cast. Both Brianna and Roger play important roles in the 1940s setting and their actions will have significant effects on what Claire will do when she travels back in time.
