Fans of the hit Starz series "Outlander" have not seen the last of Black Jack Randall, which is not a surprise to those who read Diana Gabaldon's novels where the show is based.

In an interview with Variety, actor Sam Heughan, who plays the role of Jamie in the series, revealed that in "Outlander" season 3, Randall (Tobias Menzies) is not going anywhere, at least not yet.

"If you've read the books you will know that Randall will appear again," the actor teased, adding that Gabaldon already wrote a scene involving him and Jamie.

"So hopefully – and who knows, I haven't read the script yet, but hopefully, we'll get to see Jamie and Randall in the Battle of Culloden," he went on to say.

However, despite his return, he may not be around for a long time. The said war is actually where Randall breathes his last, so it is likely to happen there.

As for Frank (also played by Menzies) aka Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) first husband, the relationship of the two will be explored in "Outlander" season 3.

However, the underlying storyline for the upcoming season is the reunion of Jamie and Claire, and the pain of them being away for decades' worth of time.

"I think what's going to be most exciting is the reunion between Claire and Jamie and them discovering each other again and falling in love all over again," Balfe said.

For Jaime, it will be the struggle to find who he is and what kind of man he is without the love of his life. In "Outlander" season 3, he will wonder what he has to live for with Claire no longer in his arms.

"Outlander" season 3 has no premiere date yet, but it was confirmed it is getting 13 episodes this season rather than 16.
