Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Catriona Balfe) prepare to begin an exciting voyage at the seas as they move on to another exciting adventure in "Outlander" season 3.

The new season of the hit time travel drama will be based on the third book in Diana Gabaldon's series, "Voyager." That being said, fans can expect the pair take on the Caribbean.

In a recent Twitter question and answer session, showrunner Ron Moore admitted that it is another challenge to translate the novel into "Outlander" season 3, but not as much its predecessor, "Dragonfly in Amber."

"Fortunately that story at least begins in Scotland, so we don't have to immediately switch to France like we did this year," Moore said as quoted by Zap2it.

However, the challenge is in finding a ship that will be their new setting for "Outlander" season 3 after they wrap up all the scenes set in Scotland.

"We have to find a ship and a tank and facilities and sets and the whole nine yards to do a sea voyage, because there's an extended sea voyage. They sail that ship around the Caribbean, then there's a hurricane and shipwreck," Moore explained.

Fans expect that there will be scenes in "Outlander" season 3 set in the United States, seeing that "Voyager" actually includes a part where Jaime and Claire eventually reaching 18th-century United States.

However, Moore said that there won't be U.S.-set scenes in "Outlander" season 3 yet. This could be one of the changes that they will be doing on the show.

As fans have realized by now, "Outlander" has not followed the source material to the letter, and the people behind the show are very vocal about that, too.

Filming for "Outlander" season 3 is expected to begin next month at the earliest. Fans can expect 13 episodes for this season as well.
