Pastor Greg Laurie: 'We're living in the last days' as biblical prophesies unfold — rise of terrorism and Russia-Iran alliance
Harvest Christian Fellowship Pastor Greg Laurie from California believes that the prophecies made in the book of Revelations in the Bible are already unfolding, and people need to start preparing for the end times.
"We're living in the last days," Laurie warned his congregation during a recent sermon. Laurie cited two specific things that point to the end of times—the rise of terrorism, which is "stronger than it has ever been," and the alliance between Russia and Iran, according to Western Journalism.
"I think it's pretty obvious to almost anyone that we are living in the last days. There are all kinds of things reminding us that Christ is coming back again," he said.
Laurie said the world is at war with Islamic radicals, a war that is based on ideology. The Islamic radicals will continue doing horrific acts as they attempt to force the world to embrace their beliefs, he said.
"It's not going to go away, because we have to understand the ideology of those who are committing these acts of terror. They want to establish a caliphate," he said. "When you get down to it, there is a hatred here for Christianity and there is a hatred for Judaism."
Laurie pointed out that the book of Ezekiel in the Old Testament has given a concrete link between modern events and Biblical prophecies.
In Ezekiel 38, there are two lands known as Gog and Magog. These two countries will join many others, including Persia, to besiege Israel.
"Wait a second, Bible student, pay attention. There's a scenario in the book of Ezekiel 37, 38, and 39 that talks about the massive force to the north of Israel marching on her and the force is identified as Magog," Laurie preached. "And most prophecy teachers and experts believe that Magog is modern-day Russia ... one of the allies that marches with Magog is Persia."
He then drew comparisons once again to the story of Noah, who warned the world of a massive flood but nobody believed him. He warned that the world is facing a similar predicament now.
