"Persona 5" is now officially set to be released later this summer.

In an interview with Famitsu magazine that has since been reported on by Siliconera, Atlus CEO Naoto Hiraoka confirmed that "Persona 5" will indeed finally hit stores by the summer.

Rumors of the game being released in the summer have been around for a while, and now, fans finally have the confirmation they have long sought after.

Aside from "Persona 5," Hiraoka also confirmed Atlus' plans to release other games in 2016.

Another title that has been confirmed for a 2016 launch is "Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir." Hiraoka also indicated that "Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir" would be launched before "Persona 5."

Hiraoka also revealed that Atlus plans to release more games later on in 2016. Atlus' CEO ultimately refrained from revealing what these games would be other than to say that they are still currently unannounced titles.

Fans will simply have to stay tuned to find out exactly what other games Atlus plans to release in 2016.

Going back to "Persona 5," despite the fact that the game has been confirmed for a summer launch, some fans are still looking for a more specific release date.

Details regarding a more concrete release date for "Persona 5" have also proven to be elusive, although it seems that the game may be facing stiff competition when it is eventually launched.

In a survey conducted by Square Enix back in December 2015, the company asked respondents to answer a question about "Persona 5" and "Final Fantasy 15," Dual Shockers reported.

Specifically, the question asked respondents which game they would prioritize getting if both titles were released at right around the same time.

Respondents could either opt to prioritize "Persona 5" or "Final Fantasy 15" and they could even answer by indicating that they would simply purchase both games.

The survey question could be hinting at Square Enix's release plans for "Final Fantasy 15," and that could mean that both games are on track to be released within the same time frame.

More news about "Persona 5" should be made available as the year progresses.
