A mobile version of "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" is in the works, according to Chinese technology giant Tencent. Korean game developer Bluehole is reportedly working with Tencent to bring the hit Windows PC game to Chinese mobile phones.

The mobile version of the game will be released in China first, but Tencent's mention of "PlayerUnknown's Battleground" as a global hit somewhat signifies that it will be released internationally as well, probably just at a later time.

Translating a big screen game to the small screen might mean several changes, of which both the developer and publisher have yet to talk about.

Tencent, however, advised players that it would slightly alter the game to ensure that it would reflect "socialist core values, Chinese traditional culture and moral rules." That is according to the official announcement released in Chinese.

No date yet on when the game's mobile version will be released in China or other markets, but the publisher noted that it shall release further information "in the near future."

Before going to mobile, "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" will first be available on Xbox One. The action shooter is finally coming to Xbox One consoles on Dec 12. A couple of weeks prior to its release, reports reveal it is available at discounted prices on retailer ShopTo.

Using a download code, the normal £24.99 will be slashed to £19.85. This already includes free delivery to ensure their copy arrives on time.

With these new developments, many hopefuls are asking whether PUBG will also come to PlayStation 4. But it looks like the developers are focusing on Xbox One and PC for now. No word yet on whether the multiplayer is ever coming to PS4.

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" is a Battle Royale of up to 100 players put on a secluded island for a strategic shooting showdown to decide the last man standing.
