PlayStation Now news: games easier to browse with new UI

When Sony launched its own game streaming service PlayStation Now last year, incremental updates had to do more with making sure that the service offers a continuous stream and to iron out minor bugs and glitches. Early this year, Sony also added a subscription option to the service to fix and organize the pricing structure of the games listed on the PS Now app. However, there hasn't been updates that greatly overhauls the app itself.

Sony has now decided on a major overhaul on the PS Now app for the PlayStation 4. Announcing the new look on its official blog, Sony PlayStation said that it would make cataloguing games much easier.

The post states, "We've completely redesigned the PS Now subscription app on PS4 to create a richer, more visual experience that makes it even easier for you to browse the catalog of 125+ games available."

With the rollout of the new design interface that was originally included in update 2.55 for the PS4, the user interface now has a more linear look for the curated categories of games. The list is also organized by theme, and each title listed has more detailed game pages with descriptions, images, and videos. Taking a leaf out of the PS Vue TV service interface that was released recently, the new PS Now lets gamers see more information-dense tiles in addition to the giant game title tiles on top.

To celebrate the rollout of the new PS Now interface, there are six titles for the monthly bonus instead of five. The five original bonus download for this month are "Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One," "Infamous Festival of Blood," "Sound Shapes," "Wheel of Fortune," and "Super Mega Baseball." These five across-genre titles is expanded with the addition of the sixth entry, "Resistance 3."
