"Pokémon GO" players find the in-game tracker, built by developer Niantic, highly unreliable. Thus, they are turning various apps and third-party Pokémon locators to make the game more enjoyable. However, the studio has a way to find out if someone has been cheating in-game, so players are now finding trackers that would not get them banned from playing the game.

WhereIsPokemon, Pokécrew, and Pokéradar are some of the alternative tracking tools that players are using ever since Pokévision went out of service.

WhereIsPokemon is a browser-based application that could show every nearby Pokémon within a selected region or area in real time. Gamers could also do a general search or use search filters for more refined results.

Players will also have a lesser chance of being banned since it does not use any of the game's API files. It doesn't affect the game at all since it uses the smartphone's web browser to find the Pokémon.

Pokécrew is another browser-based locator app that will show every pocket monster that could be found in a specific region. Pokéstops are also displayed on the map. If a player taps on a specific monster, the app provides further information about the Pokémon such as primary moves, type, weight, egg distance, max CP, and the number of candies it needs to evolve. The details are immediately shown on the map for a quick glance.

This locator map is not GPS integrated, and it does not need to be linked to any "Pokémon GO" account, so the chances of being reprimanded are very low or none at all.

PokéRadar is an app that is still standing and working perfectly. The game assistant app also does not use any in-game API files, thus its users will be safe from bans. The program relies heavily on user submitted tips in order to help other players catch Pokémon, although these tips will only remain active for the next 60 minutes upon submission.

Android and iOS users can download the app from their respective stores or use their internet browser to visit their websites. These are just some of the alternatives for the now-defunct Pokévision feature.
