Publisher Nintendo and developer Niantic have a huge hit in the release of the new "Pokémon GO" augmented reality game. However, for some of the casual players and first-time fans of the franchise, having to find Pokémon, eggs, and in-game items may be too time-consuming. Hardcore fans and some enterprising players then dug deeper to find loopholes and shortcuts in the AR game.

One popular trick for "Pokémon GO" players is trying to hatch eggs faster. The eggs – usually gained in PokéStops – can reveal a new Pokémon, and they can be hatched once the number of required distances is filled. However, for players without an active outdoor lifestyle, this can be a hindrance. According to Life Hacker, it is usually best to walk or run in a straight line when trying out distance-related features in "Pokémon GO" like hatching eggs or using incense modules, since the game's system only periodically measures distances from a previous checkpoint. This means that if players just try to go around a block a few times, the game will record a shorter distance than when walking straight.

Meanwhile, Yibada notes that the Lucky Egg is actually a helpful item to level up and gain XP even without long-time player grinding. Reportedly, using the Lucky Egg for evolving Pokémon – usually Pidgey or Rattata – can even net a 2,000-XP count on one go. Aside from leveling up faster, using the Lucky Egg together with Incense on a secluded area without an active Pokémon list can make rare and uncommon Pokémon appear. Usual Pokémon using this method include Kabuto, Blastoise, and Ponyta.

Digital Spy also mentions that for casual players who just want to collect Pokémon, there is a high chance of more variety in areas near popular PokéStops than in off-road ones. In addition, different Pokémon appear at different times, even in the same area.
