"Pokémon Go" has launched a Halloween event that will run until Nov. 2.

The event is a chance for players everywhere to capture a slew of brand-new Pokémon. Niantic, the developer of the hit mobile game, is using the event to introduce more of the familiar Pokémon from later generations of the anime and the handheld DS games to fans of the mobile application.

The Halloween event features select Ghost-type Pokémon from the first, second and third generations. According to Pokémon Go Hub, that's not the only treat players are in for this Halloween. Aside from the new Pokémon to catch, players will earn extra rare Candy and Buddy Pokémon will earn Candy twice as fast than usual. There's also a sale on items including the Super Incubator and Raid Pass.

Three different Halloween Boxes are also available for purchase. The boxes are the Special Box, which contains six raid passes; the Great Box, which comes with a handful of Incense and Super Incubator; and the Ultra Box, which contains Incense, Premium Raid Passes, Super Incubators and Lucky Eggs.

The Special Box is fit for those who enjoy raids while the Great Box is more for social players who simply want to enjoy the "Pokémon Go" experience as they raise their Pokémon and complete battles at their leisure. The Ultra Box, on the other hand, is for more hard-core gamers who want a mix of everything available in the other boxes.

The trailer for the Halloween event was first released on Pokémon Go's YouTube channel on Oct. 19. The trailer featured Pikachu in a witch hat and Ghost-type Pokémon such as Sableye, Duskull, Cubone and more.

Niantic also revealed that Pokémon from the Sapphire and Ruby generation will be making their way to "Pokémon Go" in December.

"Pokémon Go" is available for both Android and iOS devices.
