Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire update: Pokemon's newest transformation to be unveiled in November

These new versions of this classic game are sure to make battling with other Trainers a lot more exciting and beautiful, too.Pokemon Website

Like its species, Nintendo's Pokemon seems to finally be undergoing a major metamorphosis, which is set to be revealed to the world in November of this year. For the first time since their launch in 2013, Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire will finally get a facelift in the much improved Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire respectively. Collectively, they are also called ORAS.

The new titles will give players several new Mega Evolutions that have not been seen in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. As an example, Mega Sceptile will Mega Evolve from the starter Treecko, and it can cut off a portion of its tail so you can fire it against the enemy, a la missile. Another interesting Mega Evolution can be seen in Mega Sableye which hides behind a jewel to "readily exploit the opponent's weaknesses and take advantage of any openings." This jewel becomes so hard that no amount of attacking can scratch it, thus increasing the Defense and Special Attack stat albeit decreasing Speed.

ORAS will also see exciting Mega Evolutions in other new and equally exciting species like Mega Swampert, Mega Metagross, and Mega Diancie.

Another interesting introduction is the new process called Primal Reversion, which allows the Pokemons to go back to their primal state. By doing so, Primal Groudon will be able to attack better and will also be given a different type, and Primal Kyogre will see its Special Attack boosted.

There is also the introduction of the secret bases.  As explained in the Pokemon Website:

During your journey through Hoenn, you'll be able to build and invite friends to visit your personal Super-Secret Base! Come up with your own Secret Base design, including selecting and placing Decorations however you like. Then, using communication features, you'll be able to easily connect with other players all around the world to share your Secret Bases with one another. When you visit another player's Secret Base, that base's members will be hanging out there. You can talk to them or even battle them! If you find other base owners that you like, you can scout them as one of your Secret Pals and bring them back to your own Secret Base.

You can also use Super-Secret Bases to play a capture-the-flag activity. Examine the flag beside the Secret PC in another player's Secret Base to obtain it! You can take one flag per day from each base visited. Visit lots of Secret Bases and collect lots of flags to improve your team's rank and get rewards, including increasing the skills of your Secret Pals."

As revealed by reddit user YouDontKnowThisUser through his various screenshots, ORAS will apparently be merging the 3D graphics of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y with the vibrant colors of the original versions of Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire. After about 11 years, players will finally be able to trade, collect, and battle with other Pokemons in an enhanced platform, both visually and adventure wise.

They are exclusively for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS.
