The prices of both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge have now dropped significantly.

As of now, the prices for the 32GB variants of each device have already fallen by €100 in the Netherlands. This means that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is now available for €599, while the S6 Edge can be had for €699, according to Techno Buffalo.

The price drops are not limited to the Netherlands.

A while after prices dropped for both devices in the country, the discounts soon moved to other parts of Europe as well.

Following in the footsteps of the Netherlands is the United Kingdom, although the price drop here for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge is not as significant.

As of now, the price of the Samsung Galaxy S6 in the United Kingdom has dropped from £599 to £559, while the price of the S6 Edge has gone down from £699 to £669, according to ZD Net.

The price drops for both Samsung Units have been limited to parts of Europe, but most believe that the discounted prices will soon move across and even make their way to North America.

Samsung is said to have a number of reasons for why they have decided to slash the prices for the two handsets as significantly as they have.

Computerworld reported both devices have had difficulty living up to the expectations Samsung had for them after the company launched the two back in April. The less than ideal sales figures for both devices are said to stem, at least a little bit, from delays when it comes to getting components, although that is likely that there are other reasons.

Samsung has largely underperformed to this point in 2015, with profits down by about eight percent when compared to 2014. Samsung has struggled particularly with their smartphone sales, and the hope is that the discounted prices can at least help the company raise those numbers before the end of the year.
