Prince Caspian DVD to hit shelves in time for Christmas

|PIC1|Enter the exciting world of Narnia from the comfort of your own sofa this winter when the second instalment of CS Lewis' epic Narnia series, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, hits the UK's shop shelves on November 17.

Prince Caspian is the action-packed sequel to The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and sees William Moseley, Georgie Henley, Anna Popplewell and Skandar Keynes return as Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, the Pevensie siblings.

In The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, the Pevensie children return to a Narnia in which 1,300 years have passed and the talking beavers and friendly animals they remember from their last visit are gone. So too is the cruel White Witch. They discover that Narnia is now ruled by a cruel Telmarine tyrant, King Miraz, and Aslan has not returned for over a thousand years.

When the four children meet Prince Caspian, the rightful heir to the Telmarine throne, they embark on a remarkable journey to restore magic and glory to the land. With the valiant dwarf Trumpkin, Reepicheep the talking mouse, and the suspicious Black Dwarf Nikabrik in tow, they raise an army of Narnians to rise up against the evil Miraz.

Liam Neeson also reprises his role as Aslan the Lion and Academy Award winner Tilda Swinton returns as the cold-hearted White Witch.

The original cast is joined by rising star Ben Barnes as Caspian, heir to the Narnian throne, with a host of other big names including Eddie Izzard, Warwick Davis and Peter Dinklage appearing as new residents of Narnia.

The DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def releases, from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, are packed with exclusive featurettes, interviews and deleted scenes, whilst Disney will be hoping its special two-disc Collectors Edition makes it into a few stockings this Christmas.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian packaging also includes a special DisneyFile, a digital copy of the movie that can be viewed on a variety of portable devices for the whole family to enjoy anytime, anywhere.

Lewis' seven-book Chronicles of Narnia series is regarded as one of literature's most enduring classics, selling over 100,000,000 copies in more than 35 languages, making it the second biggest book series the world over.
