The latest PlayStation video game console is speculated to be unveiled on Sept. 7. It is rumored that Sony will unveil have the PlayStation Slim and the powerful PlayStation Neo at a media event. Now, an online auction shared several images of the PlayStation Slim.

The image of the PlayStation Slim was first seen at Gumtree, an auction website based in U.K., and then shared on NeoGAF. Based on the images provided by @shortmaneighty2, who purchased the unit, the highly speculated console has a matte finish and contains a 500GB storage drive, and without a doubt, is slimmer and smaller compared to a white original PlayStation 4 that was pictured together with the device.

Eurogamer added that Richard Leadbetter, a game writer and author at Digital Foundry, met up with the person who leaked the PlayStation Slim and verified that the console is legit. Leadbetter also took some photos of it for their own use and even a short video showing the device booting up, although it was taken down as per legal advice.

Many fans do not believe that the images are true. Some are even asking why it contains only a 500 GB hard drive, which would not suffice for gamers. The answer, which came from other players, is it is packaged for the lower end of the price spectrum. It is speculated to be below US$350 and will directly compete with redesigned Xbox One S.

Additionally, a video also surfaced that shows the redesigned DualShock 4 controller for the Slim. It also came from the person who bought the device, but again, the video is not available anymore. It was initially believed that a second light bar is present at the touchpad area, but @shortmaneighty2 stated it seems it is not.

He replied, "I am not sure that it's an additional light, It looks to be just a slim see through part on the touchpad which lets light through.

Everything right now is unofficial until Sony unveils the PlayStation 4 Slim.
