It was previously reported that "Quantum Break" will not only release for the Xbox One but also for Windows 10. According to a report from Gamespot, Microsoft Executive Aaron Greenberg not only defends this decision but also confirms that there is no plan to release the game via Steam.

This is in response to the negative feedback from numerous Xbox One players who deemed Microsoft's decision as a form of betrayal, making many gamers question why they bought an Xbox One when Microsoft would simply release the game across other platforms as well.

"People should know: Xbox is a big priority and a huge commitment," Greenberg clarified. "Please do not let the fact that we are also launching a game on the same day on Windows 10 change your perspective on the importance of the console business or our commitment to innovating on console."

Greenberg continued to state that Xbox exclusives are still a priority for Microsoft and the Xbox team, stating that the sales of Xbox One exclusives in 2015 were considered a massive success for the company.

However, Greenberg also stated that while "Quantum Break" will release for Windows 10, it will not be available through the Steam digital network. According to Greenberg, the game will be an exclusive available solely on the Windows Store.

Phil Spencer, the business executive of Xbox, did mention the appreciation Xbox and Microsoft has for Steam and what the digital store has done for the gaming industry as a whole but the report points out that it comes as no surprise that Microsoft would prioritize their own store before Steam's platform.

"Quantum Break" will release this coming April 5 for Xbox One and Windows 10, with a free copy of the Windows 10 version being bundled for every consumer that pre-orders the Xbox One version. Also included in the game is the Xbox 360 game "Alan Wake" and pre-orders will also get "Alan Wake: American Nightmare."
