There will be more where the free "Rainbow Six Siege" downloadable content (DLC) came from as Ubisoft is standing up against paid DLCs.

"It wouldn't work if it was about making it compulsory for gamers. No more DLC that you have to buy if you want to have the full experience," Ubisoft's vice president of live operations Anne Blondel-Jouin told gamesindustry.biz.

"You have the game, and if you want to expand it - depending on how you want to experience the game – you're free to buy it, or not."

Blondel-Jouin added that if the DLC is "not adding something on-top of the actual experience of the game," it will be "no good" as it is simply "asking for more money for the wrong reasons."

This is the mindset that Ubisoft has with "Rainbow Six Siege" as it offers DLCs for free. New characters will be made available to everyone, but it will be up to players if they add extra weapons or charms, which will be the items that will be priced.

Even if players decide not to, they will not miss out on the experience. This strategy definitely allowed "Rainbow Six Siege" to flourish.

The game is not as big as it is today when it first came out last year. The free DLCs definitely boosted its popularity and led to a bigger gaming community.

As far as new DLCs go, there is no news about that yet. The final "Rainbow Six Siege" expansion for this year, "Operation Red Crow," has just been released.

There is no news of new DLCs, but Ubisoft's commitment to expanding the game suggests that there is more to expect in the expansion department.

Blondel-Jouin actually promised in an interview with PCGamesN that details about the "Rainbow Six Siege" DLC will be revealed, "in the weeks to come." She refused to spill the beans as she does not want to spoil fans of what they have prepared for them next year.
