'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Lisa Vanderpump talks about Kim Richards' relapse and firing

Kim Richards famously feuded with her fellow "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" cast members over the years, and one person who she traded barbs with was Lisa Vanderpump. Now, the restaurateur is speaking out about Richards' relapse and her firing from the hit Bravo show.

Vanderpump spoke with Radar Online at the Pump Lounge in West Hollywood on Thursday, June 4, during the "Red Carpets and White Lies" book launch party of Lea Black (from "The Real Housewives of Miami").

"A reality show should document your reality," Vanderpump told the website. "It shouldn't be the reason you drink and the show should not be what keeps you sober."

Last week, E! News reported that Richards has been cut from the Bravo series. The 50-year old entered rehab for alcohol addiction after being arrested for public intoxication. She started on "RHOBH" in 2010 on the first season of the show, but the website's sources claim that she could be back for cameo appearances later on down the road.

In an interview with Dr. Phil in April, Richards said that the stress of being on the reality show gave her great anxiety which eventually caused her to fall off the wagon.

During the show's recently concluded fifth season, Richards butt heads with Lisa Rinna after the "RHOBH" newcomer questioned her sobriety. Two years ago, it was Vanderpump who was in Rinna's situation. The "Vanderpump Rules" star said that she chose to stay out of that scenario this season because she "didn't want to go there again."

One lesson that the 54-year-old star said that can be learned from what happened to the former child star is that if anyone is considering being reality show, the first thing that they should do is to be truthful.

"If you are going to sign up to be in a reality show, be completely honest," Vanderpump said.
