Rebecca St. James Adds Another Gold Album to her Collection

|PIC1|Legendary Christian artist Rebecca St. James has added another gold album to her collection, with the official RIAA certification of her Grammy Award winning studio album, Pray, which has now surpassed the 500,000 mark in sales.

The event was marked by a Nashville gold recognition celebration for the Australian born singer, hosted by the EMI CMG Label Group, under whose banner St. James has been associated since the beginning of her record career in the US on Forefront Records in 1994.

St. James noted at the presentation: "Every now and then something happens in ministry life in music where you are allowed to glimpse how lives have been impacted, and Pray going gold has been this sort of glimpse for me. To have the kind of professional and personal support and friendship from people in this room of the caliber of Bill Hearn and Peter York, and to share this moment with Eddie DeGarmo who signed me to Forefront when I was 15, Tedd T. who has worked with me over the course of all since I was in my teens, and Greg Ham, the former president of my label-and to be able to express my gratitude for the part they've played-is a very touching experience for me."

Regarding the winning album, she said: "The Pray album has consistently been the one that people will come to me after my concerts and mention by name-often citing the impact these particular songs have had on their lives at a time when they needed encouragement. It's a project that has obviously meant a great deal to many-and it's a wonderful encouragement to see it go gold."

Currently on Rebecca's agenda is the release of her new radio single "Take All Of Me" - now going for adds at Christian radio.

She says of the single: "I love worship music and I was immediately gripped by the power of this lyric. It's a Hillsong United song and as I used to go to Hillsong Church back in Sydney-it really ties into my worship roots."
