When one hears the HTC One M9, many would refer to the current one available in the market. But word has that an improved version of the device is coming out in October.

The HTC One M9 came out with Android 5.0 Lollipop last April and HTC has already come out with various maintenance updates and fixes to improve the handset, particularly the camera.

But it looks like the company is far from content with what the current HTC One M9 has brought so far. Now, it looks like the company could be trying a rebranding tactic with word that the HTC Aero will actually be known as the HTC One M9 as well when it possibly comes out this October.

HTC Corporation CEO Cher Wang hinted about it as early as June — a device that carries a lot of improvements and reportedly primed to give the upcoming iPhone 6S some competition.

As reported yesterday, details on the improved HTC One M9 have yet to come out in the open. For now, the only thing that has been said about it is that it will come in a lush premium style casing as well as a curved display protected by a Gorilla Glass 4 panel.

Internally, the said HTC One M9 will reportedly bank on a MediaTek Helio X20 processor backed by 4 GB of RAM. It's main camera's megapixel count has yet to be confirmed as well as its Android operating system version. The belief is that it will be out with Android M.

Tipped as a high-end device, pricing may range between $500 to $600 once it comes out. Could this reported rebranding technique work well for HTC? Better yet, can it really stand up to Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 6S?
