Up to now, there's still no word on "Red Dead Redemption 2" as neither developer Rockstar Games nor its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has confirmed the game's existence.

According to the latest reports, the western shooter may not arrive anytime soon, and it might end up being one of the launch titles for the PlayStation Pro and the Xbox Scorpio.

The former will be released this holiday season, which could have "Red Dead Redemption 2" tag along with it. If that will be the case, it won't be long before the game will be announced. However, the latter won't be out until next year, and it remains to be seen how this could affect the launch of the yet-to-be-announced game.

Despite the leaks and reports pertaining to an imminent release of "Red Dead Redemption 2," the sequel is yet to be made official, and it might even be a long way off before it is confirmed.

Looking at previous release schedules, "Red Dead Redemption 2" will not be here soon even though it may be announced this year, as pointed out by iDigital Times.

"Red Dead Redemption" was announced in February 2009, but did not see the light of day more than a year after it was made official. Unless Rockstar has changed things up, the sequel might take a while to be before it rolls out.

Assuming an announcement by the end of the year will drop, fans are looking at a possible 2018 launch for "Red Dead Redemption 2." There's no word with regards to the development of the game. What is only guaranteed is that the sequel will eventually be out and about.

This is because Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has already declared "Red Dead" as a full-fledged franchise that they will continue to expand, much like "Grand Theft Auto."

However, Zelnick also said that they were coming to the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016 in a big way, but this was certainly not the case.

Early this month, it was rumored that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be announced at the PlayStation Meeting in New York. The event has come and gone, but the game remains as big of a mystery as it was years back.

If the game will make fans wait long enough for the PlayStation Neo and the Xbox Scorpio to arrive, they can count on a rich and visually appealing game.

Rockstar will likely take advantage of the power of the consoles, which include seamless 4K resolution display, so "Red Dead Redemption 2" could become the most beautiful installment in the series.
