The upcoming "Resident Evil 7" will still have the same objective as the previous game of the series, that is to fight and survive a zombie-infested area. Fans are reacting positively to the horrors of the latest game demo released by Capcom.

Fans were treated to another short demo called the "Lantern."  This was released during Gamescon 2016 that happened a few weeks back. Players were brought back to the old plantation house in Louisiana, owned by Jack and Marguerita Baker. The latest demo also made the horror factor jump a notch higher, with its broken windows and smashed floorboards, GameNGuide reported.

Capcom seems to be hitting the right spot of the gamers with their demos for "Resident Evil 7."  Many fans were greatly disappointed with the previous game. First, the studio uses a first-person perspective rather than the third-person view with its previous game, which will also benefit the PS VR. The tone of the game is different, too. It is not about how much weapons you can carry or how many grenades a player can throw at the infected, but how a player solves the mystery at hand. The classic inventory system will also be back, Polygon added.

The company also stated that "Resident Evil 7" is not just another ghost story, which everybody initially believed, but will be far from one. There will be common elements known to the series, yet players will be able to experience new ones as well.

"Resident Evil 7" will be released on Jan. 24, 2017 for the PlayStation 4, PS VR, Xbox One and Windows PC platforms.
