The CW television series based on the characters by Archie Comics "Riverdale" returns this week for the sixth episode of its second season. The upcoming installment titled "Death Proof" will see Mayor Sierra McCoy (Robin Givens) threaten to further increase the tension between the North and Southside.

The synopsis for episode 6 from TV Guide also reveals that Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Archie (K.J. Apa) will thwart the forming of a dangerous alliance between the Serpents and an undisclosed long-time rival. The episode will also see Betty (Lili Reinhart) seek help from Veronica (Camila Mendes) with regards to the Sugarman, and Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) confront her mother Penelope (Nathalie Boltt) after a distressing run-in.

In the past week, a promo has been released for the upcoming episode. It depicts how chaotic the current situation is in Riverdale with Jughead describing it as a police state. The streets can also be seen filled with gang members looking to cause even more trouble in Riverdale. It also shows the problem of Betty with Sugarhead as she turns to Veronica for help in trying to unveil his identity. The trailer features the voice of Sugarhead telling Betty over the phone how she allowed him to see the real Betty Cooper and how beautiful she was.

In an interview with TVLine, Lili Reinhart says that Sugarhead's fixation on Betty can be compared to how the Phantom of the Opera was with Christine. She added that Sugarhead wants puppeteer Betty to get the town to where he wants it in a very manipulative way. Will he succeed with his plans, or will Betty be able to outsmart him? This question will remain unanswered until the latest episode airs this week.

"Riverdale" season 2 episode 6 will air on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
