The original "Rogue Trooper" video game was launched for PC and consoles over 11 years ago. Now, the highly acclaimed third-person shooter title is making a comeback with "Rogue Trooper Redux," a remastered version of the title that has been made compatible with PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

The game was released for the current generation of gaming platforms on Tuesday. The "Redux" version brings back the same narrative as the original game, but with improved high definition graphics, newly remodeled assets and character visuals, brand new special effects, and advanced dynamic lighting.

The game also introduced various tweaks in the controller layout to make it compatible with today's consoles. It also brought additional difficulty levels that gamers can play.

Despite these changes, "Rogue Trooper Redux" will tell the same story that fans of the title loved. The game revolves around a genetically manufactured blue-skinned super soldier who becomes the only survivor when his unit gets ambushed. Armed with his gun and an anger for the deaths of his comrades, the soldier, known as Rogue, is out to exact revenge on those who betrayed them.

The story of the game is one of its biggest strong points, with an intense narrative of betrayal and revenge. Its simple and straightforward story further increases the gravity of the circumstances that the protagonist is in. The original game earned British Academy Games Awards nominations in 2006 for Best Story and Best Character for Rogue.

For players looking to explore the game without having to go through the arduous task of fighting against hordes of aggressive enemies, developers Rebellion and TickTock Games have also released a number of cheats that players can use in the game.

Players may get cheats for infinite health, one hit kills, unlimited throwables, infinite ammunition without having to reload, and freeze timer.
