Ronda Rousey and John Cena are stars in their own right and for their respective companies. Aside from the difference in gender, the two obviously share a lot of similarities as far as their plights are concerned.

Even though the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) are two different entities, the fact remains that superstars fall at some point — gracefully at that. Cena has done that plenty of times, while Rousey just started getting a feel of that when she lost to Holly Holm at UFC 193.

There are some who believe it was an act, while others beg to differ. But considering that Rousey is set to take some time off, the sudden change of title does seem a bit on target.

Remember that Cena also lost the U.S. title at a WWE pay-per-view (PPV), something that happened because the Cenation leader needed some time off to focus on a reality TV show.

Hence, Rousey losing the title seems to be a bit on cue in the UFC, with some critics (like former wrestler Taz) alleging that the whole thing was fixed. 

But the thing is, the UFC doesn't seem to have plans up for grabs like that of the WWE. Dana White doesn't seem to have plans for Holm to defend it, with Rousey promised a rematch when she returns in July.

On the other hand, the U.S title was passed on to Alberto Del Rio, with the understanding that the WWE could at any time put it on the line. Unfortunately, Del Rio hasn't really put the title on the line and has instead been busy with other matters which in all sums up how shaken up the WWE is right now.

Regardless, there could be some similarities (and not) between the two. But the most important similarity is, of course, both are expected to bounce back after their off-ring commitments.
