A steady offensive game seems not enough for the Sacramento Kings as veteran forward Rudy Gay, who is the team's second-leading scorer, is on the trade rumor mill, with reports saying calls for a potential deal were already made. 

According to Sheridan Hoops, league sources said the Kings called the New Orleans Pelicans and offered Gay in exchange for forward Ryan Anderson, whose name also frequented trade rumors since he is a coveted stretch four. 

Sheridan Hoops' report stated that the Kings aim to address their issue on the wing, hence the attempt to acquire Anderson by shipping Gay to New Orleans. 

The report added that Sacramento is really looking for help on the wing and is even considering picking up players like Orlando Johnson from the National Basketball Association Developmental League (NBA D-League). 

Both Gay and Anderson are great players who can help either teams especially on offense this season. 

But Sheridan Hoops also stated that the Kings are not interested in New Orleans' pitch for now. 

Before the report, there were no really significant information released about Gay's status with the team regarding trades.

The 29-year-old forward was involved in rumors before, but the Kings have not really made a comment about the matter. 

Meanwhile, Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry recently said it is unlikely that they will let go of Anderson, but understands why the name of the 27-year-old forward is being dragged in rumors. 

Like Gay, Anderson is also the second-leading scorer for his team, the Pelicans, with both teams dwelling on the bottom half of the Western Conference standings. 

If a trade deal happens and the two get switched, it does not assure each team a significant chance of making it to the playoffs, but it will likely address present issues and may spark new energy to both rosters.
