Samsung has just unveiled the Galaxy C9 Pro, featuring the tech maker's first foray into the 6 GB RAM handsets.

The handset is now live on Samsung China's website. The subject of a number of previous rumors leading to its debut, fans can now check out the confirmed specs for the Galaxy C-series addition.

The Galaxy C9 Pro is a true phablet handset, featuring a 6.0-inch Super AMOLED display, with the screen having full HD resolution. Aside from being a phablet, another noted feature is the Galaxy C9 Pro being a selfie shooter phone, as its front camera features a 16-MP setup. The assembly is also the same for the phone's main camera at the back.

Meanwhile, with the improved specs and features over the base version Galaxy C9, the Pro version also receives improvement on its usage, as it runs on a 4,000mAh battery.

Under the hood, its 6 GB RAM is paired with a Snapdragon 653 chipset. Its 64 GB onboard storage is also expandable for up to 256 GB via microSD support. Other confirmed specs and features for the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro include Samsung Pay support, Hi-Fi speakers, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow right out of the box. However, as a recent release, it is expected that Samsung will include the Galaxy C9 Pro in the list of devices to receive an Android Nougat 7.0 update soon.

The new Galaxy C-series addition will go on sale in China on Nov. 11 for 3,199 Yuan or about $470. While the phone is said to be a China-exclusive, there is still a chance for Samsung to set a global release, much like what it had done with previous China-only lineups like the Galaxy A.

Meanwhile, since the Galaxy C9 Pro is the first Samsung iteration to carry 6 GB of RAM, it is expected that the South Korea-based tech giant will also start to feature this option in future releases, particularly with its next flagship, the Galaxy S8.
