Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date, specs rumor: New Samsung flagship to launch earlier than expected?

Much like the Galaxy Note 5's unveiling last year, it is said that Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Note 6 in August.Reuters

Normally, Samsung launches new top-tier flagships twice a year. With the Galaxy S7 already released, fans are now looking forward to this year's IFA in September, as this is normally the period when Samsung releases a new Galaxy Note.

But for this year, the much-anticipated Galaxy Note 6 may come earlier than expected.

According to Yibada, speculations suggest that the next in the Galaxy Note lineup will appear earlier than the expected IFA launch in September, maybe possibly as early as August. The industry follower said that the August unveiling will come exactly a year after Samsung released the current-gen Galaxy Note 5.

With previous Galaxy Note iterations, the South Korea-based company released a new series addition every year at the annual IFA in Berlin. However, Samsung deviated from this practice last year, when it unveiled the Galaxy Note 5 in August.

While it may not directly relate to how soon the Galaxy Note 6 will come, the industry follower observed that previous Galaxy Note iterations like the Galaxy Note 4 have had price discounts lately, hinting that a new follow-up is already underway.

Other speculations, meanwhile, say the Galaxy Note 6 will be powerful. According to The Bitbag, one of the most significant speculations on the Galaxy Note 6 is its massive internal storage. There are rumors pointing out a 256GB storage option for the upcoming Galaxy Note, and should Samsung decide to feature microSD support (which it brought back with the Galaxy S7), then the storage capacity of the new Galaxy Note will make it a powerhouse. There are also speculations that Samsung will give the device 6GB RAM and a new processor.
